a year agoEverything we had was excellent and we will definitely be back. It’s a hidden gem for sure. The Kiev Cake was amazing. The potato pancakes were also fantastic, and the pork shashlik was to die for. Service and atmosphere also excellent.

a year agoThe food was delicious. I was told it is hard to find good food in Sarasota! Amazing presentation by a Hungarian chef. My husband's potato pancakes with goulash were perfect. I couldn't believe how home cooking restaurant wasn't packed on a Friday night. My dinner, see the pictures, was golumki, a beef and rice stuffed cabbage was perfectly cooked in a light tomato gravy. The waiter was kind and considerate. They had desserts, beer and my favorite german Spatlese wine. The owner gave me a bottled beets as a take home. They bottle and sell vegetables as well.

2 years agoWe had amazing time in this restaurant with my friends! The atmosphere is so friendly and the design of this place is great! All food was delicious 😋 There was a special dish shish kabob and it was awesomeeee! Love it! Vareniki were good as well as Schnitzel. I will definitely come here again!!!

2 years agoOutstanding service and menu. Not even close to vegan but this is Eastern European carnivore heaven! Baked goods too numerous to mention and as attractive as they are delicious. The presentation is classy wait staff is gorgeous and attentive and holding back tears when discussing Ukraine 🇺🇦 I will be back for lunch and dinner again and again. This is truly fine dining without the pretension or price. There should be a line to get in come quickly before it gets discovered. If it’s crowded when you get here, sorry, not sorry I’m telling a friend you should too.

2 years agoCame in on a recommendation and leaving with excited intentions to spread the news about this place. We enjoyed our main dishes but liked the pierogis (ate them before we could even take a picture) very much and LOVED the desserts even more. Great service; attentive and at a good pace. We'd love to come back every time we're in Sarasota.

2 years agoBacres is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. We’re Europeans and the food they serve is delicious and authentic. We tried Ukrainian borscht and chicken cutlets, both were top notch. Their coffee products are great and the prices are very reasonable. Can’t wait to come and the try their selection of desserts.

2 years agoHidden treasure, no doubt that I would give 5 stars to this restaurant - where we can flavor variations of authentic European dishes. I ordered pork T-bone Schnitzel on Mashed potato, it was served with hot cabbage, and Austrian potato salad… oh my gosh!! They were Super delicious. Not to mention their rich desserts I had a triple chocolate cake. It had perfect sweetness and it went wonderful with a cup of cappuccino. Go Hungry everyone! You won’t be disappointed!

Edited 2 years agoFabulous cafe. Don’t bother with chain restaurants. This place is amazing. Cakes are unbelievably delicious. Great breads. The offerings are perfection. Head here for lunch and you won’t be disappointed. The spinach pierogi are amazing and the quiche is excellent. A wonderful family owned bakery, cafe, restaurant. They have a small market with to go products, a variety of pierogi, soups, and Ukrainian specialties.
